The Americanization of the Prairie and Piney Woods Cajuns is an often-humorous (and sometimes-melancholy) chronicle of the lives and culture of the author's Cajun ancestors who dwelled on the grasslands and in the pine forests of Southwest Louisiana. This project also illustrates the 20th-century immersion of the Cajuns into mainstream-American culture. It is a vivid revelation of a people who struggled for survival while celebrating life.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Brad Crochet was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana. While serving in the Army, he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas, and he graduated from Tarleton State University-Central Texas in 2008. He currently resides in Central Texas.
